The Altair council has proposed a motion for Runtime Upgrade 1016 on Altair as announced in this post. This time the motion to fast track it has been opened at the same time, so the council is voting for both right now.
This upgrade will mark a new milestone as it will allow pools to launch on Altair!
See the motions in the portal here (while they are open).
See motion 22 on Subscan here.
See motion 23 on Subscan here.
See the Github release here.
The steps for the process will be as follows:
- Create pre-image of call

- Council proposes

(Council motion 22) using the hash from the pre-image above

- Council proposes a
democracy.fastrack
(Council motion 23) so the upgrade can be enacted shortly after the public referendum ends (if it passes)
- Public referendum will be available for all AIR token holders to vote on. The voting period will be 10,800 blocks (~2.25 days with an average block time of 18 seconds)
This post will be updated as we proceed through the steps.
Remember, that you don’t lose your AIR by voting on referenda - they are just locked for the duration of the vote. After that, they will be available for transfer again. You can make your vote count for more by voting with conviction which means that you can vote with up to 6X the amount of tokens you have, by locking them for a longer period of time.
If you want to know how voting with conviction works, you can see a short explanation in this post.
