CFG Token Migration Process Recap
This post documents the full timeline, governance actions and communication channels from the first proposal posted on the Centrifuge Governance Forum on February 3, 2025, to the close of the migration extension on December 4, 2025.
Centrifuge executed a 10-month migration process with broad exchange support and extensive public communication.
February 3, 2025 - Governance proposal to migrate the protocol from Polkadot to EVM
CP141, a Request for Comments proposing the development of Centrifuge V3, a multi-chain, EVM-based protocol was published. The proposal laid out the benefits of building on EVM to access the largest pool of onchain liquidity, unmatched developer tools, and robust ecosystem support, positioning Centrifuge as the go-to solution for institutions. The proposal highlights that a protocol migration will also lead to a token migration.
The RFC went through open discussion on the Governance Forum and on a public Governance Call. After 14 days of discussion, on February 18, 2025, it advanced to off-chain voting with a 7-day voting period. The proposal passed with 69% aye.

March 6, 2025 - Governance proposal to migrate the CFG token
CP149, the RFC proposing migrating the CFG Governance Token to EVM, was published. The proposal outlines the plan to consolidate liquidity under a single, native EVM-based CFG token.

The RFC went through open discussion on the Governance Forum and on a public Governance Call. Throughout this period, all token holders had the opportunity to suggest improvements, provide feedback, and propose adjustments to the migration timeline.
The discussion took more than 10 days and on March 17, 2025, CP149 advanced to off-chain voting with a 7-day voting period. The proposal passed with 99% aye.

May 10, 2025 - Migration announcement
The migration announcement was published on the Governance Forum, followed by a coordinated rollout across all official channels: a pop-up notification on the Centrifuge website, the official Telegram account, X, and Discord.
Centrifuge Ambassadors further amplified the announcement by translating it into Chinese, Spanish, French, German, and additional languages.
May 20, 2025 to November 30, 2025 - Migration launch and exchange support
The migration launched on May 20, 2025, with an initial deadline of November 30, 2025.
The Centrifuge team worked to secure migration support from major exchanges including: KuCoin, Kraken, Gate, Bitvavo, BingX, OKX, XT, WEEX, Bitrue, CoinList, CoinOne, and Korbit.

Final Migration Window
Following the recent listings of CFG on Upbit and Bithumb, we have seen renewed attention from parts of the community. For some holders, this has surfaced CFG balances that were not migrated during the migration window.
In light of the recent listings and the renewed visibility around CFG, until April 10th, 2026, we will review migration requests on a case-by-case basis. Please email migration@centrifuge.io .
The Centrifuge Chain will be deprecated and the migration will not be possible after April 11th, 2026, in line with CP149.
This is the final chance before migration becomes permanently unavailable.
