We’re thrilled to share the latest update on the Centrifuge token migration, and we’re genuinely amazed by the enthusiasm and support you’ve shown so far.
This process is a significant step toward unifying our ecosystem, and your participation is making it a reality.
As of today(17.06.2025), we have successfully migrated 80,471,936 wCFG tokens and 50,046,967 legacy CFG tokens from the Centrifuge Chain. That’s over 130 million tokens now transitioned to the new CFG token in less than one month!
A total of 1,016 holders have completed their migrations, which is a fantastic show of community commitment.
For those who haven’t migrated yet, there are still 435,602,304 legacy CFG tokens (both wCFG and Centrifuge Chain CFG) waiting to make the switch.
As the Discord moderator, I’ve received and responded to several important community questions. To help others who may be wondering the same things, I’m sharing the most common ones below.
For any other questions, please join our official Centrifuge Discord server and open a ticket in the #support channel. A Centrifuge team member or one of our moderators will respond promptly to resolve your issue.
F.A.Q
1. I hold my tokens on a centralised exchange (CEX). What should I do?
Answer
Consult the “Supported Exchanges” list published by Centrifuge (link)
- If your CEX is listed, no further action is required; the platform will handle the migration for you.
- If your CEX is not listed, withdraw the tokens to a self-custody wallet and follow the manual migration guide.
- We’re actively working to secure support for CFG on both existing and new centralized exchanges. If there’s a CEX you’d like to see CFG on, a post on X tagging them to show demand would go a long way- it really helps!
2. I store my CFG / wCFG on a Ledger hardware wallet. Can I migrate directly from Ledger?
Answer
At present, the Ledger flow is not officially supported. To ensure a smooth migration:
- Transfer your tokens from Ledger to a hot wallet (CFG: e.g., Talisman, SubWallet; wCFG: e.g., Rabby, MetaMask etc).
- Complete the migration from that hot wallet.
3. After migrating, my wallet still shows the token value as $0. What should I do?
Answer
Specific non-custodial wallets have not yet integrated a price feed for the new CFG, resulting in a temporary display of zero value. Your onchain balance is correct; no user action is needed while Centrifuge coordinates with the wallet providers to resolve the issue.
4. Do I need to migrate my tokens immediately?
Answer
The migration window closes on 30th November.
However, we encourage you to migrate as soon as possible to help deepen liquidity for one CFG token.
5. What is the migration rate?
Answer
One legacy CFG or wCFG converts to one new CFG (1:1).
6. Where can I trade the new CFG token?
Answer
A continuously updated list of centralised and decentralised exchanges is maintained on the CFG page at CoinGecko.
7. Where can I find an official list of exchanges that will or will not support the migration?
Answer
The definitive list is available on the Centrifuge Governance forum Centrifuge Token Migration Update - #3
8. Are there any fees for migration?
Answer
• wCFG → CFG: You pay the standard Ethereum network gas fee.
• Legacy CFG → CFG: A flat fee of 50 CFG is applied, benchmarked against the prevailing average Ethereum gas cost.
9. The migration button is inactive. How can I proceed?
Answer
Kindly ensure that all your tokens are unlocked and fully transferable. This means they should be fully vested and free from any governance restrictions.
10. What should I do if I receive the error message “Migrate CFG: Transaction failed”?
Answer
Please transfer your CFG tokens to a new hot wallet and then restart the migration process
