I have submitted a public proposal to extend the size of the active validator set from 32 to 40. Please submit your vote on Centrifuge Chain!
This proposal stems from having a consistently large group of nodes waiting to join the active set (currently 16). This shows that extending the size by 8 is viable.
The team had previously been cautious about extending the active set ahead of a move to become a parachain - as the role of validators will be changing to collators. However, it appears we may still have some time before that happens. As the timeline for parachains on Polkadot remains unclear, I propose to extend the validator set so that at least, for the time being, many of these nodes can be rewarded!
