CP138: Centrifuge Education(Only) - Parallel Track By DoDAO

,

Greetings, DoDAO!

Like many others who have already voted, I fall into the camp of starting with education content. It would be interesting to see some mockups or samples of what could be covered, and I would suggest keeping the ask to $50K or less so that it could be done in a single proposal (more than $50K requires milestone based payments per TAG guidelines).

Moreover, I believe there could be some value to having an outside organization such as yours create this content because you likely have a different perspective and approach to the in-house marketing team that works on behalf of Centrifuge. This is why I also believe, as noted previously, having a few samples of content you’d like to generate would go a long way in convincing the voters of the value you could bring to the team and its attendant DAO that contains active contributors such as myself.

Thanks for your proposal and engaging in our governance process!

Gratefully,

Thinking foudnational for a moment may help. If we begin with the question why do we have the educational initiative? The answer emerges to be to drive adoption, reduce barriers to entry, make it easier for fund managers to get comfortable. On that basis quantifiable metrics would be:
End results (likely more for the BD proposal)

  • Pools created by participants in educational programs
  • new stables volume parked in new asset pools

Intermediate results

-Informational resources view count, click through count, session time, social media comments and quotes

  • Webinar participants
  • Distinct educational program curriculums proposals passed by community ( could be delineated for the audience such as distressed debt fund manager program, venture loan fund manager, SBI backed etc. OR size, geography, industry)
  • Conversion rates in your outreach pipeline with insight to the stages such as :outreached, scheduling a call or registered to webinar, engaged (responded or asking a question), evaluating, negotiating, agreement made, onboarding, pool live, TVL inflows started

Do any of these sound like targets you think you would like to set for yourselves and are also aligned with the expectations of the community?

PS. I see you are already adding value by asking the right questions on behalf of the intended audience such as this post. CP138: Centrifuge Education & Growth - Parallel Track By DoDAO - #13 by robinnagpal Keep it up!

I am not “officially” a relevant individual involved with marketing and BD but I’d be happy to act as a guest host for Centrifuge if there is community interest. I could host
what: spotlights of other debt fund managers or asset issuers on CFG on what their considerations were when choosing to work with CFG
where: Denver, Seattle, Berlin, Zug, Vienna, DC at a location privately designated with counterparty
when: during ETH Denver or similar Blockchain conferences I go to anyway
with whom: Anemoy or other pool issuers
examples: x.com, Sam O. Yilmaz on LinkedIn: #crypto #web3 #userexperience #founderspotlight #developertools | 14 comments
content: what is the before and after, what else did you evaluate, what are aspects that need to be improved, how has it made a difference, who else should work with you, who else should work with CFG, what is the best way to get started.
legal: I’m happy to let the content be used by Centrifuge Foundation and grant the rights to it in full for the use of BD and education.

Hey @robinnagpal !

I appreciate your proactive and feedback-seeking approach. I’ve noticed there has been considerable feedback across different channels since you published your proposal. Given the amount of votes and feedback received, would you consider submitting a fresh/final proposal that incorporates this feedback?

Once you submit your final proposal, we as TAG will publish our non-binding assessment of it. After that, you can proceed with the on-chain voting process.

Thanks for your attention.

@0xjulcaesar Based on the feedback, we plan to submit a new proposal next week for “Education Content Only” which will address/incorporate most of the feedback given by the contributors!

quick reminder that if one of us could crosslink that new proposal here and other relevant channels, it would improve ease of navigation.

@robinnagpal I would recommend to just edit this proposal (the main post in the top), rather than creating a whole new topic and proposal, once you are ready to make the changes based on the feedback so far.

The changes/revisions to a post is always visible to anyone by clicking on the pencil icon.

This way, the progress of the proposals can always be found and all the comments and the poll will be in the same topic.

The final version of the proposal, that should be put to a vote, will be submitted to our proposal repository on GitHub.

Thanks for the great feedback! I’ve updated the proposal with the following key changes:

  1. Education-only scope – Distribution and business development are out of scope and can be proposed separately later.
  2. Clear deliverables and milestones – Added detailed timelines and concrete deliverables.
  3. Reduced cost to $48,000 – The actual effort is higher(~$56K), but we applied a discount since this strongly aligns with our interests.

Let me know if you have any further suggestions!

Hi @robinnagpal, we are aiming to start the vote for three treasury proposals (including yours) on Monday next week.

Next steps for you (see also screenshot below)

  1. Make sure you have provided the correct CFG wallet address in this proposal for the funds to be transferred to, if your proposal passes.
  2. Make sure you have 5,000 CFG + some CFG for transaction fees (5001 CFG should be more than enough) in your wallet to use as bond for the submission of your proposal (see step 3) - this bond will be returned to you if your proposal passes the onchain vote. If your proposal doesn’t pass, the 5,000 CFG will be slashed, but the Centrifuge council will create a motion afterwards to send these funds back to your wallet so they will not be lost.
  3. Go to the portal (Polkadot/Substrate Portal), make sure your wallet with the 5,000 CFG is connected and create your treasury proposal by:
    a. clicking on “Submit proposal”
    b. selecting the wallet with the 5,000 CFG for the bond
    c. selecting the beneficiary of the funds (wallet provided in this proposal)
    d. adding the amount of CFG requested *
    e. clicking on “Submit proposal” and sign the transaction with your wallet

*You can convert the $ amount requested ($48,000) to CFG by using the actual CFG price when you are submitting this. Please also add to your proposal under the Budget section what will happen in case of CFG price volatility (up or down) after receiving the funds and converting them to $, if the proposal passes.

Once you have done step 1-3, the Centrifuge council will submit a motion to create a public referendum (the onchain vote) for all CFG holders to vote on (as opposed to only the council voting on it). We are aiming to do this for all three ongoing treasury proposals on Monday so please make sure to do these steps before then.

I will keep you updated with the progress in this forum post.
